Yes, it's true. My name really is Andy Mayberry ... and my middle name isn't "of."
And I don't have any family members or friends named Opie, Gomer or Goober. If you laughed or smiled when you first heard my name, that's OK. If I had to be named after a
TV show, I'm glad it was that one. The Andy Griffith Show is truly my favorite show of all time. It was funny, but
it also taught plenty of good morals, ethics and life lessons that I hope my four young daughters all learn. Folks in Mayberry
got along and helped each other, friends and strangers alike. Plain speaking, honesty and common sense were traits to
be admired. That's Mayberry thinking,
and I'm happy to be named Andy Mayberry.
